It's a fantastic day for five Scone residents as they've collected a thrilling £30,000 each! The windfall arrived after their postcode, PH2 6QJ, was announced as the winner of today's #30KADAY Street Prize.

A Great Return

Prize-winner Julie was taken aback when she saw the five-figure sum on her cheque. She said, "It's all a bit surreal - there are a lot of zeroes on the cheque! My husband Raymond is over the moon, too. We were saying that this just doesn't happen to people like us. We don't even know anyone that's won this kind of money so why would it be us? 

"It's so crazy but a lovely surprise and perfect timing with Christmas coming up."

Julie's trying to be sensible when it comes to spending the windfall. She said, "I've three children and the youngest is about to turn 18 so you've always got something to spend your money on but the idea would be to have a holiday when things are a bit better. I've always wanted to go to the Amalfi Coast. Having this kind of money just brings a bit of security."

Julie, who is an active member of the local community, signed up because of the support that goes to charities. She added, "You do what you can and never think you're going to win these things but what a great return for me!"

Over The Moon

Neighbour Frances was just as delighted with her £30,000 cheque. She said, "I didn't expect that much money to be fair, I thought it might be £1,000 - my head is reeling! It's really nice though, I'm really happy.

"There's a few things around the house that need done and maybe a holiday next year if we can - Tenerife is my usual destination.

"My husband Ken is at work so I phoned him and he's over the moon. He asked if we're getting a takeaway tonight so I said, 'I suppose so!' We'll have a wee celebration drink with our takeaway and think about what to spend it on."

Today's Street Prize is part of a draw promoted by Youth Music, which has received over £5.1 Million thanks to player support. This funding enables the charity to invest in music-making projects for children and young people experiencing challenging circumstances.
