Whoopee For Welwyn Garden City

Seven neighbours in the town of Welwyn Garden City are celebrating today after scooping a combined total of £240,000 with People's Postcode Lottery. The winners each pocketed cheques for £30,000, with one winner bagging £60,000, when their postcode - AL7 4SA - was drawn as the winner of Sunday's Street Prize.

A Wonderful Moment

Chris won the biggest amount of £60,000 by playing with two tickets and was grinning from ear to ear when Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier revealed his prize. He exclaimed, "What a wonderful moment seeing that cheque!"

Beloved Labradoodle Oscar was high on the list of family members getting a treat, with a cosy new dog bed due. Chris and his wife also said they'd be jetting off on a nice holiday and sharing some of their good fortune with their son.

Viva Espana

Neighbour Caroline also netted a £30,000 cheque and revealed plans to visit her mum in sunny Spain.

Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier travelled to this hidden gem of Hertfordshire to surprise our winners. He said, "A big congratulations to our winners in Welwyn Garden City today! What a great way to end the week. I'm sure they'll enjoy spending the cash and treat themselves to something special."

Deserving Projects

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Active Trust (opens in a new tab), which provides regular grant funding to organisations that work to improve the health of communities by encouraging and inspiring participation in physical activity. Supported charities include Cruyff Foundation, Greenhouse Sports and Street League.
