New Year Boost In Baildon

Three Baildon residents have started 2021 with a bang after winning £50,000 each with People's Postcode Lottery. Their postcode, BD17 6TD, was announced as a winner of today's #50KADAY Street Prize.

The neighbours found how much they'd won over a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt.

Chuffed To Bits

Delighted Graham, a financial advisor, was emotional when his cheque was revealed. He said, "No way! Oh my goodness. That is amazing. I'm just overwhelmed."

When asked what he'd spend his win on, Graham's family were the first thing on his mind. He said, "It means an awful lot as I have the most loving family you could ever ask for. My three sons are wonderful. They come first. Whatever I can do to help my family. My mum and dad too. They'll all come first, I'm last on the list.

"With the year it's been so far I can honestly say the first thing will be a magnificent family holiday next year with my wife and sons if it can be done. A few years ago, we were lucky enough to go to Disney in America and I'd love to go with more of the family if possible.

"I have the most lovely family and we're all very close. There will be a few celebrations when it's allowed!"

When asked if he would treat himself to anything, Graham added, "My phone is very out of date, so I can finally get a new phone. I might even treat myself to a new watch!"

Graham summed up how he was feeling towards the end of his call. He said, "I'm emotional and absolutely chuffed to bits! I wish you were all here now so I could put the kettle on and we could have a brew together."
