Make Fashion Circular
The Make Fashion Circular project will create a textiles economy fit for the 21st century
Clothes are an essential part of our lives, and provide an important means of self-expression. However, their production and the way we use clothes is currently wasteful and polluting. Make Fashion Circular seeks to ensure clothing is made from safe, renewable materials and that old clothes are turned into new garments.
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, together with Royal Society for the Arts, will drive a substantial two-year design effort, fundamentally reshaping the way clothes are designed, made, used, and reused.
This will build tools, directly engage a powerful network of design institutions, key influencers and innovators, while increasing awareness in the broader design community.
It will deliver the first open source design guide for circular fashion, inspiring designers to reimagine products, business models and systems for a circular economy.
