Alzheimer's Society
Alzheimer's Society campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today
There are currently around 900,000 people with dementia in the UK, and one in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
Alzheimer's Society provides help and hope to everyone living with dementia. They are the UK's leading dementia charity, determined to give vital support to those who need it most and end the devastation caused by dementia.
Funding from players of People's Postcode Lottery will support a new Side by Side service which supports people with dementia to continue treasured pastimes and try out new experiences, as well as helping people to feel part of their community. Side by Side will help people to maintain a better quality of life and enjoy different leisure activities. By encouraging people with dementia to get out and about in their local communities and supporting them to become involved in local groups, this service will also help people to feel less isolated.
